The Mosactel Ottonel reflects our ambition to discover new wine styles and concepts. This variety of Moscato, although rarely used, is original from Austria and can be found aswell in Alsace in Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia. In 2003 we planted 2ha at Quinta do Síbio in the plateau of Alijó, and the rare varietal adapted well to this terroir, at 600m of altitude, where the cool climate is ideal to enhance the wines aromatic character and exotic style. While differentiating itself to the typical Moscatel Galego for its elegance and finesse, the Moscatel Ottonel turned out to be a great challenge for our winemaking team, offering us the change to show a new style of Douro, and another reason to keep innovating!

Differentiating itself from the traditional Moscatel Galego, the Moscatel Ottonel is a wine of great aromatic intensity that charms for its white fruit and floral notes, showing immense complexity and freshness. Reveals dry and mineral on the palate, yet very fruity with a long, fresh and crip acidity. A fantastic wine for gastronomic pairings as well as for ageing in bottle.
