A classic Douro red produced from old vines in a field blend where Tinta Barroca is predominant.
The Aciprestes Tinto is made from parcels of old vines aged over 4o years, planted in a field blend, with a smaller selection of grapes than usual, which at the time represented the favourite amongst producers. Composed mainly by Tinta Barroca and Tinta Roriz, and Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão and Tinta Amarela on a smaller scale, these vines ensure the complexity and rusticity of a classic Douro. The fermentation occurs in stainless steel vats followed by an ageing period of 8 months in french oak vats.
Quinta dos Aciprestes Red presents a clean, deep and beautiful garnet colour and intense aromas of plums and cherries combine in perfect harmony with nuances of vanilla, evidence of its aging in oak. On the palate, eruptions of fruit flavours allow its finish to reveal structure and elegance.
