Evel reserva

In 1996, we produced the first Evel Grande Escolha, which at the time became the company’s top of range wine. More recently, with the introduction of even greater wines into our portfolio, we have decided, in 2008, to declare this powerful Douro Red as a Reserva, fitting into a mid-high quality basis in our range.

Vinho do Douro Evel - Reserva
Winemaking

A classic Red produced from vineyards with over 60 years old planted at Quinta das Carvalhas, where originality and rusticity are always present. These grapes are harvested and placed directly into stone lagars, de-stemmed and treaded by foot. Fermentation occurs in these lagars allowing a soft extraction and preserving the essence and and structure provided by the Old Vines. Ageing occurs in French Oak barriques for a period of 12 months.

TASTING NOTES

The wine presents a beautiful and intense ruby colour and powerful fruit and greenish herbal aromas harmoniously integrated with notes of vanilla. Full bodied and round, with excellent structure divulging an immense complexity of flavours due to its 12 month ageing in oak.
