Pinot Noir is considered by most the best grape variety in the world, however it is certainly the most dificult to work with. With a small bundle, low yield, a thin and sensitive skin, this renowned French variety has been one of the biggest viticulture and winemaking challenges since its plantation in 2001. This Quinta de Cidrô Pinot Noir demonstrates a different facet than usual as it unites the elegance and finesse of this French Variety, with the structure, minerality and acidity of the Douro.
100% Pinot Noir fermented in stainless steel and aged in used french oak barriques.
It presents a bright ruby colour and typical Pinot notes of pomegranate, gooseberry and raspberry, which combine perfectly with its nuances of vanilla and coffee from its 12 month ageing in oak. A wine with a very balanced structure of intense, round fruit flavours that create harmony on the palate and a long, persistent finish.
