The Marquis is an exceptional blend selected exclusively as a tribute to the Marquis of Soveral, born in São João da Pesqueira and previous owner of Quinta de Cidrô, at the time property of the Soveral Family.
This fresh and intense white expresses the excelence of the vines at Quinta de Cidrô, through a careful selection of Sauvignon Blanc, one of the main white varieties planted at the Estate. Idealized as an experiment, this blend represents our constant search for inovation in the Douro. During every harvest, our wine-maker selects a specific parcel from each of our white varietals to ferment and age in 550L barrels, showing us different sides and virtues of Douro whites. This Sauvignon Blanc, was one which showed excellent character, generating our enthusiasm to bottle it seperatly.
An unusual and inovative Douro white which reveals its greatness through enormous freshness, intensity and aromatic complexity, unvealing mineral aromas linked with notes of green peper, grapefruit, espargus and light nuances of oak. On the palate, shows fruit flavours with a fresh mineral component which lingers on the finish together with an everlasting acidity.
