The Lágrima represents one of the oldest traditions in white Port making. It’s acuentuated sweetness and liquorous texture are result of an antecipated interruption in fermentation, to usual standards for Port, resulting in a very concentrated white Port, rich in fruitful aromas, which offers immense pleasure when served chilled.
The Ports chosen for the blend of Lágrima begin the fermentation process in stainless steel vats in contact with grape skins (maceration), until the interruption of the fermentation through the addition of brandy. The wine then ages in oak vats for a period of 3 years before bottling.
A Port of golden like colour, showing concentration and texture, with great aromatic intensity and freshness revealing raisin notes harmoniously integrated with oak nuances from it’s ageing. Sweet and licorous, filled with fruit flavours, with a long lasting finish.
