Quinta dos Aciprestes is located on the left bank of the Douro river, right in front of the mouth of Tua tributary. Its slopes gently border the river benefitting from ideal sun exposure.
The Quinta has been completely replanted with Douro’s most noble varieties of which Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca are dominant, excluding the 19 ha of field blend where Tinta Barroca has greater expression.
The vineyards are located between the heart of the Cima Corgo and Douro Superior, which together with Northern sun exposure and low altitude, create a microclimate ideal for the perfect ripening of red Douro varieties. Quinta dos Aciprestes’ wines are the expression of the quinta’s terroir showing intense concentration, excellent aromatic character and very full-bodied style.
At Quinta dos Aciprestes, besides the recently launched white wine, the production has been focused on red wines, of three quality levels: Tinto, Reserva and Grande Reserva. In addition, an extension of the Grande Reserva line has been made with a powerful single varietal Sousão and a quiet unique Touriga Nacional from a very small parcel called “Talhão 14”.
