The Porca de Murça Reserva Vinhas Velhas (Old Vines) is created from a parcel of Old Vines at Quinta das Carvalhas and represents the very best we can make unde this brand in very limited addition, available in countries where the brand is market leader. With a limited production of only 1.200 bottles, this superb Douro red is result of a careful selection of parcels with ages over 50 years old.

BLEND
In these Old Vines, located at a higher point of Quinta das Carvalhas, we can identify over 35 different varietals, which are essential to the complexity of this wine. These grapes are harvested and placed directly into stone lagars, de-stemmed and treaded by foot. Fermentation occurs in these lagars allowing a soft extraction and preserving the essence and and structure provided by the Old Vines. Ageing occurs in French Oak barriques for a period of 12 months.
TASTING NOTES
Produced from selected parcels of Old Vines, this wine presents a beautiful ruby colour with violet tones. A very aromatic wine with notes of red fruit harmoniously integrated with its aromatic complexity provided by its 12 month ageing in oak barriques. Flavours of mature frute are intensly flavoured on the palate and are highlighted by its great structure with a long lasting finish.
